Community Service

This semester, I participated in fundraiser to benefit Ithaca Crew. Essentially, groups of 2-4 rowers went to various houses near campus and helped residents with yard work. I had a good time raking leaves and clearing vines off the side of a house with teammates. It was nice to know that I was able to help someone else.

Student Organization - Esports Club

E-sports club is essentially a group of students that meets weekly to play various video games, such as  League of Legends or Overwatch. The club allows students to meet others who enjoy the same games as they do and form connections through them. In addition to the Saturday meetings for casual players, there are also competitive teams for people who wold like to play at a higher level.

Student Organaizations - Crew

When applying to colleges, i was looking for schools that had both good communications programs and a crew team. Luckily enough, Ithaca fit that description.

I joined the team this fall and throughout the season, I worked with both the experienced varsity rowers as well as novices who had never rowed before. I am glad that I joined the team and can continue to do the sport that I enjoy.

Student Leadership Institutes- Fall 2016

Rather than participate in three different SLIs, I decided to attend the BOLD conference. During the day, I learned about the intersection of business and sustainability. The first two speakers I heard were Jeff Scott and Mark Darling, who talked about Sustainability in large scale dining. The second speaker I heard was Samantha Abrhams, who is an Ithaca alumna and co-founder of Emmy's organics. She talked about using business as a force for change towards sustainability. The last person I heard speak was Marian Brown. She talked about how we should focus more on the environment when making financial based decisions.

Freshman Leadership Goal

For Freshman year, I would like to become more involved in the Ithaca College community by finding an organization which I am passionate about and support.
